Planning Surveys for Various Scenarios

One of the great things about the Surveys Module is its versatility. Even departments within your company that are not currently using Issuetrak can benefit from a free end-user account dedicated for nothing more than creating their own surveys. This account can be granted administrative privileges to the Surveys Module, empowering departments to construct their own surveys and actively contribute to the pursuit of continuous improvement. While surveys can certainly be set up to automatically dispatch to submitters upon issue closure, it is important to note that they can also be launched independently without requiring any prior issue association.

You can build and deploy a survey using any of these options without the surveyed users needing an Issuetrak account:

  • Email Link: Embed a survey link in a web page.
  • Web Link: Provide users with a direct link to the survey.
  • Popup Link: Insert a pop-up link on a web page; when clicked, it opens a new window displaying the survey.
  • Email Messages: Send survey invitations via email.

The first step in survey creation is planning. Determine your survey questions and their formats, and consider personalizing your surveys with visually appealing graphics and tailor-made color schemes. The remainder of this article aims to provide guidance on survey planning. When you are ready to begin creating your survey, refer to the following article for step-by-step instructions: Designing Surveys.
